Location

The Blue River Estate and Blue River Resort, Hot Springs & Spa is beside the Rincón de la Vieja National Park, a 1 ½ hour drive from Liberia or Upala. Liberia is described as the jumping off place for the beach resorts of Guanacaste and nearby Rincón de la Vieja waterfall and volcano hikes. It is Costa Rica’s second largest city and second busiest international airport, with direct flights on most major airlines and many regularly scheduled charter flights.

The Blue River Estate and Blue River Resort Hot Springs and Spa are located less than a kilometer apart, within the district of Dos Rios, just inside the province of Alajuela. There are several villages in close proximity; chief among them, Dos Ríos.

From the international airport in Liberia, travel is mostly along well paved roads. See our map for directions. Upala is another major city is that is approximately a 1 ½ hour drive away to the north. The beaches of Guanacaste are approximately 2 ¼ hour drive.

Directions:
From Liberia take the Pan American Hwy North (Towards Nicaragua) for 18 km to Potrerillos, right after the second bridge, where you see a big antenna on your left, make a right turn.
Continue for 7km to Quebrada Grande. Go through Quebrada Grande and at the end of the Park make a left towards Dos Ríos.
Continue for 20 km and cross Dos Ríos towards El Gavilán. 5 km later you will find Rio Celeste. Cross the River and turn left. 600 m down you will come to Blue River Resort on your right.
