This article is an example of how one's choice of where to settle down and raise a family can become the cause of isolation and hardship, not of their making. For some reason, one road receives regular maintenance, even paving, while another is left neglected. Then electricity is brought along the maintained road, while the other continues to be left neglected. This was the case for the people living in the pueblos (towns and villages) around Blue River Resort. After Blue River Resort & Hot Springs became the catalyst for building out this basic intrastate, many are discovering the area. Nationals and foreigners are now settling here because of the eco and rural lifestyle. Tourists are discovering the hot springs pools, blue rivers, the rainforest & this side of Rincon de la Vieja. Blue River Estate and Blue River Resort & Hot Springs are truly jewels of Costa Rica.
