Blue River Resort & Hot Springs, Costa Rica
Bird Watching
Spend a delightful visit to Rincon de la Vieja National Park, regarded as one of the best bird watching areas in Costa Rica. Along our route, visit the "Palmitos Del Rio" a large plantation farm for heart of palms where we'll learn first-hand all about growing and harvesting methods. Then we'll commence our walk through primary forest, the habitat for many native bird species. Watch out for the toucan, orioles, tanager, flycatcher, chorchines, hawk, manakin, bell umbrella and others (some according to the season). Plus we'll come across other animals in their natural habitat. Drink fresh spring water in the middle of the all-natural forest, purified by the nearby volcano. Swim in natural mineral pools, small water falls, natural waterslides and high waterfalls within a huge canyon surrounded by vegetation along the Penjamos river channels.
