Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park
Rincon de la Vieja is Guanacaste's most popular travel destination for day-visits. There are plenty of activities and the nature is spectacular. Rincon de la Vieja also has two distinct sides. The more popular, south side is only 30 minutes from Liberia and has the renowned mud pots. The Caribbean (north) side, has recently been opened up by the Blue River Resort & Hot Springs which is located is 70 minutes from Liberia. Only this side of the volcano is in the rain forest, has natural mineral hot springs, blue volcanic rivers & grand waterfalls.
